JJ Abrams has been approached to direct the ninth Star War movie. Abrams had earlier directed the first movie in the Star Wars sequel trilogy, The Force Awakens, making him the second person to direct more than one Star Wars movies. Another director who has directed two Star Movies is George Lucas.

Well, JJ Abrams was never the first choice to direct the movie.

Lucasfilm earlier approached Colin Trevorrow, who had directed 2015’s biggest hit Jurassic World, to helm the flick. However, Colin walked out of the project after he parted ways with LucasFilm and Disney. Rumours were doing rounds that the studios were not satisfied with his last movie, The Book of Henry. Not only this, there were other rumours that the studios were founding it difficult to work with the director.
