JJ Abrams To Be Honoured With The Leading Man Award At Athena Film Festival

Hollywood filmmaker JJ Abrams is all set to be honoured at Athena Film Festival with the Leading Man Award. According to reports, Abrams' amazing career and constant support for women and encouraging them in the entertainment industry has given him this opportunity. His work on 'Alias' and introducing the world to Daisy Ridley's Rey in the new 'Star Wars' trilogy are also the reason for his achievement.

In an interview recently, Abrams said, “I am deeply humbled to be recognised by the Athena Film Festival. Any good I've done has been achieved because I have worked alongside women, and I share my gratitude with all of them for being honoured with this award”.

Earlier, filmmaker Paul Feig and David Oyelowo have received the Athena Leading Man Award in 2016 and in 2017 respectively. Athena Film Festival 2018 will commence from February 22 to 25 in New York City at Barnard College.
