John Legend’s Upcoming Album Encourages One To Be Optimistic

The All of Me singer, who is prepping up for the release of his fifth studio album 'Darkness and Light’, has revealed that there is lot of darkness and negativity in the world we live in. However, the 37-year-old legend revealed that the idea of creating a music album 'Darkness and Light’ struck him after he realised the amount of pessimism and pain in the world. The legendary singer thinks that there will be lot of darkness under the presidency of Donald Trump.

"While 'Darkness and Light' is the name of one of the songs, those words kept coming back to me. There's a lot of darkness in the world, pain and conflict. But the album also represents the desire to find light, optimism, love and joy in the midst of all that," the Glory singer said.

John drew inspiration from icons like Marvin Gaye and Bill Withers to sing about love. While lauding Marvin Gaye and Bill Withers for their music, the actor said, "They sang about love and relationships in a really beautiful, sensual way, but they also sang about love in a broader sense: love for mankind, love for justice and love for peace".
