In January actor Johnny Depp sued Joel and Robert Mandel, both from a company named The Management Group (TMG), for allegedly taking money without his consent. In return, the company counter-sued Depp for not returning its money which he owed. The company further stated that the actor has spent exorbitantly on himself without returning their money.

There were times when Johnny’s spending totalled up to two million USD a month. However, when the company resorted to a Los Angeles court, the court called it as irrelevant in the current legal battle he has with his ex-business mangers. Sources revealed that Teresa Beaudet, who is a senior judge in the court, found that the company failed to connect how his spending is relevant to the case.

"The pages of allegations of Depp's allegedly outrageous spending clearly have no relevance to the five percent commission allegedly owed TMG from the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' payout, or to the final work done by TMG on transitioning their files to Depp's new representatives," she wrote. She further added, "They would seem more relevant to the allegations of breach of oral contract related to the credit card debts, except that TMG does not specifically allege which exact expenditures by Depp were spent on which card, leading to that debt owed. Without specifics, the Court cannot find they are relevant to any cause of action in the FACC."
