Joseph Gordon Teaming Up With Amazon For K Troop

It has been reported that The Dark Knight Rises actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt will be teaming up with Amazon Studios to develop a drama on the white supremacist group Ku Klux Klan. The movie will be titled K Troop and will be set in the Reconstruction-era. K Troop will be based on an upcoming Slate article by Matthew Pearl.

As confirmed by EW, Amazon has purchased the feature film right to the project. Joseph might play the lead role in the film, as well as produce the project through his HitRecord Films banner. He will be the leader of the Army regiment that is tasked with controlling the KKK.

Currently, no director or writer has been revealed for the film. Joseph has multiple projects lined up which include Snowden, Fraggle Rock, an adaptation of Neil Gaiman, comic series Sandman and a music comedy where he will share screen space with Channing Tatum. Amazon Studios has also acquired the rights for Woody Allen’s next movie.
