Actress Julianne Moore will next be seen as a deaf woman in upcoming movie 'Wonderstruck'. The actress has revealed that to get authenticity of the character, she learnt American Sign Language for two months. She will play two characters in the movie, a silent movie star in 1927 and a deaf woman in 1977.

Julianne spent two months in learning the sign language for her portrayal of Rose in 1977. She even got pointers from dead actress Simmonds. "She was so nice about my signing, which is bad. t's like talking to a baby. I'm not kidding! But Millicent was very encouraging. She'd always go, 'You got it, keep going, keep practicing,” said Rose.

The Still Alice actress said that she found it tough to say no to the role that required her to play two roles. She said, "That's hard to resist, getting to play two parts. And the book is pretty extraordinary. It's about these kids who are trying to find their parents, but what they end up finding is their culture and community. That's something beautiful and very meaningful.”

Directed by Todd Haynes, 'Wonderstruck' is slated to release in November.
