Following the news of Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart in early talks for the Jumanji reboot, TheWrap has reported that School of Rock actor Jack Black is also in talks to join the film. Dwayne recently took to Instagram to state that the reboot will honour late Robin Williams, who played the lead actor in the original 1995 film. The reboot will re-adapt the original Chris Van Allsburg’s 1985 children’s book.

Jumanji will tell the story of a magical board game that brings the creatures of the jungle to life. The movie will be directed by Jake Kasdan and the screenplay will be penned by Scott Rosenberg. Matt Tolmach and William Teitler will serve as producers for the project.

Jack Black was last seen as the voice of Po in ‘Kung Fu Panda 3’. He also played the role of R. L. Stine in last year’s ‘Goosebumps’. Jumanji, the original film, was directed by Joe Johnston and starred Robin Williams, Bonnie Hunt, Kirsten Dunst, Bradley Pierce and Jonathan Hyde.
