Jumanji Reboot Postponed To Christmas 2017

Jumanji Reboot Postponed To Christmas 2017

Fans who have been waiting eagerly for the Jumanji reboot will have to wait a little longer, well, seven months longer. Actor Dwayne Johnson has announced that the movie will now release in December next year. This puts it directly in competition with ‘Star Wars: Episode VIII' and also ‘Pitch Perfect 3’.

Johnson took to Instagram and posted, “Right down Dwanta Claus lane.." Excited to share this great news: CHRISTMAS of 2017 comes early for our #JUMANJI SEQUEL”. He further explained that after months of shooting and editing, they came to a realisation that the movie is part of a big family franchise and since Christmas is the favourite time for most of the people, it would be befitting to release the movie then. Initially, it was planned for a summer 2017 release.

Directed by Jake Kasdan, the movie stars Jack Black, Kevin Hart and Karen Gillan, alongside Johnson. The original film, which came out in 1995, starred Late Robin Williams, Kirsten Dunst and Bradley Pierce. It told the story of a board game that brought everything to life.
