    Jumanji Remake To Be Helmed By Jake Kasdan

    Bad Teacher and Sex Tape director Jake Kasdan will be directing the remake of the 1996 film Jumanji. According to Deadline, Scott Rosenberg will write the screenplay for the film. Just like the 1995 film, the remake will also be inspired from the 1985 children’s book by Chris Van Allsburg.

    The director has been working on TV shows like The Grinder, Fresh Off the Boat and New Girl. The original film told the story of a magical board game that brings to life, the situations involved in the gameplay. It was directed by Joe Johnston and starred late Robin Williams, Bonnie Hunt, Kirsten Dunst and Bradley Pierce.

    The remake will be executive produced by Ted Field and Mike Weber. Matt Tolmach and Bill Teitler will be serving as producers. The Jumanji remake will be released on December 25, along with Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, directed by Tim Burton.
