Richmond International Film Festival will honour actress Kate Bosworth with the founder’s award on behalf of her film ‘Nona’. The movie will also be played on the festival’s opening night which will take place on April 24. The founder’s award honours those filmmakers who make movies based on the reality of life. It honours artists who create necessary yet artful thought and dialogue in their work.

‘Nona’ is a narrative feature produced by Bosworth and is directed and written by her husband Michael Polish. It puts light on Central America’s sex trafficking industry. The movie revolves around a young Honduran girl who meets a young boy named Hecho who promise her to safely take her home to reunite with her mother. However, the boy doesn’t deliver his promise and the girl faces a dangerous journey. She travels across four countries and ends up living in a world of modern-day sex slavery.

‘Nona’ is an acronym for ‘No Name’. This is the first feature film that has been co-produced by the husband and wife producing team through their newly formed production company, Make Pictures Productions. Kate is currently busy shooting for ‘The Devil Has No Name’. She recently appeared in National Geographic’s miniseries ‘The Long Road Home’.
