The upcoming animated flick Kung Fu Panda 3 will bring back previous voice actors along with several new ones. One of them will be Kate Hudson, who will voice Mei Mei – a ribbon dancing panda. She will play the love interest of Po.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, before Kate, Rebel Wilson was going to voice the character but had to leave because of the extended schedule of the movie. The voice actors will include Jack Black as Po, Angeline Jolie as Tigress, Dustin Hoffman as Shifu, Jackie Chan as Monkey, Seth Rogen as Mantis, Lucy Liu as Viper and David Cross as Crane. The third instalment will explore the hidden panda village, a glimpse of which was seen at the end of the second part.

The previous scenes that were recorded with Rebel will be reanimated to show Kate’s take on the character. The movie is being directed by Jennifer Yuh Nelson and Alessandro Carloni and the writers include Jonathan Aibel and Glenn Berger. Kung Fu Panda 3 will be produced by Melissa Cobb with Guillermo del Toro and Mike Mitchell as executive producers.
