Kate Hudson Talks About Working With Her ‘Dad’, Kurt Russell

The upcoming Peter Berg directorial ‘Deepwater Horizon’ stars Mark Wahlberg, Kurt Russell and his step daughter Kate Hudson, along with others. Recently, Kate spoke about working with her “dad” and shared that it was “rare and special”. The actress revealed that though she did not get to spend a lot of time with her dad in front of the camera, she enjoyed the time they spent together promoting the film.

“I knew the script was interesting and I knew I wanted to work with Mark Wahlberg and (director) Peter Berg, but I also wanted to be involved in this because of my dad”, said Kate. She added, “It was great to be filming in New Orleans as a family. It was summer, so Pa (Russell) actually lived with my brother Oliver, who was shooting ‘Scream Queens’ there”.

‘Deepwater Horizon’ tells the true story of an offshore drilling rig that exploded during April 2010 which ended up becoming the worst oil spill in U.S. history. Wahlberg plays Mike Williams, a survivor from the incident. Kate plays the role of his wife.
