Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise Split!

Just a short while ago we heard Cruise talking about how flowery and perfect his marriage to Holmes was. We'd even heard him tell contramusic.com about how "she's funny and charming, and when she walks into the room, I just feel better"! So when Katie made a statement to a celebrity magazine that she had left her husband, i'm sure it was as big a shock for Tom as it is for us! According to TMZ, Holmes cited irreconcilable differences in her divorce petition filed in New York.The only concern for Holmes right now seems to be getting the sole legal custody of Suri. Although Cruise said he was 'deeply saddened' by the news, if he contests Katie's custody claim, we could be looking at a high-profile court battle. Unfortunately for cruise, this brings his failed marriage count to three. He was married to actress Mimi Rogers from 1987 to 1990 and to Nicole Kidman, with whom he adopted two children, from 1990 to 2001. Cruise had make several sugar-coated statements about their marriage. "I am a romantic," he had said. "I like doing things like creating romantic dinners, and she enjoys that. I don't know what to say - I'm just happy, and I have been since the moment I met her.
