Actress Kaya Scodelario had recently said that she will not allow anyone to define her as a sexual assault survivor. The British actress was sexually assaulted at the age of 12, which was revealed by her on Twitter last year reacting to the 'Me Too' movement on the internet. She spoke out about it and thanked the women who came before her to share their stories and giving her the courage to act the same.

The 25-year-old actress said, “I will be asked about it forever now. I hope it doesn't define me but it will always be under my name and I accept that - but I am proud I was brave enough to do it and I am grateful for the support I had from friends”.

On 16 October the actress took to her social media account to share her story. She wrote, “It's taken me 13 years to say #MeToo. He is still protected by 'family members' in Brazil. They've told lies to papers to try to silence me”.
