Kristen Bell joins cast of ‘Michelle Darnell’

Kristen Bell has joined the cast of Universal's upcoming comedy ‘Michelle Darnell.’ The actress will begin shooting the scenes alongside Melissa McCarthy, Kathy Bates and Peter Dinklage in March. McCarthy's husband Ben Falcone is directing the project, while she portrays the title character.

According to the reports, the story follows a titan from the industry who is sent to prison after she's caught for insider trading. When she emerges ready to rebrand herself as America's latest sweetheart, not everyone she screwed over is so quick to forgive and forget. Bell will play a single mother and Darnell's former assistant. Bell, most recently seen in the Veronica Mars film, will be back voicing Anna for the Frozen spin-off short Frozen Fever. Michelle Darnell will arrive in theaters on April 8th, 2016.
