Kristen Stewart heads towards double Indie political dramas
A hectic summer is awaiting Hollywood actress Kristen Stewart as two political dramas are in the queue waiting for her, Camp X-Ray and Sils Maria. First comes Camp X-Ray and then she will move to Sils Maria.
While Camp X-Ray is a drama on war-on-terror directed by debutante Peter Sattler, Sils Maria, also starring Juliette Binoche and Chloe Moretz, focuses on growing old. Stewart will start working for the first one from mid-July and she will play a female soldier posted at Guantanamo Bay. She would develop a special liking for one of the prisoners, with whom eventually she shares an unusual bond.
On the other hand Sils Maria will be a modernised story. In the drama, Binoche plays an elderly actress who sees her life changing after the death of her muse. She looks forward to star in a reproduction of her most famous play but she gets cast opposite the young role which once led to her popularity. Moretz will step into the shoes of a Hollywood star who gets enmeshed in scandals and lands with the young role in the revisited drama. Stewart has been assigned with a supporting role as she will play Binoche’s assistant. It will be directed by French filmmakerOliver Assayas.
