Camp X-Ray is based on the provisional confinement facility at the Guantanamo Bay detention camp. This film revolves around a friendship tale which blossoms between a lonely military guard (Stewart) and a captive at the prison which confines suspected terrorists in the camp. Written and directed by Peter Sattler, Camp X-Ray features Stewart, Peyman Moaadi, John Carroll Lynch, Lane Garrison and Joseph Julian Soria in pivotal roles. Jonathan Sehring, president of Sundance Selects/IFC Films, said in a statement, “Peter Sattler has made a stirring, sensitive and thought-provoking film that features two powerhouse performances by Payman Maadi and Kristen Stewart.” He added, “Maadi proves once again that he is a force to be reckoned with and Stewart undoubtedly gives the best and most moving performance of her already remarkable career.”
