Variety has reported that Apple is developing a comedy series which has Reese Witherspoon as one of its executive producers. It will be a 10-episode series which will mark Wiig’s return to the small screen after she left Saturday Night Live in 2012. Colleen McGuinness will be the show runner and one of the executive producers for the series.

The upcoming show has been inspired by ‘You Think It, I’ll Say It’ which is an upcoming short story by Curtis Sittenfeld. After leaving SNL, Wiig has seen a fruitful career including an Oscar nomination for best original screenplay for ‘Bridesmaids’. She has also worked in films like ‘Ghostbusters’, ‘The Martian’ and the recently released ‘Downsizing’.

Along with ‘Are You Sleeping’ and a currently untitled morning show drama, the new comedy series will be Reese’s third project with Apple. The company also has several projects in the pipeline which include a reboot of ‘Amazing Stories’ from executive producer Steven Spielberg, Steven Knight and Francis Lawrence’s ‘See’ and an untitled space race drama by Ron Moore.
