Lakeith Stanfield To Be Seen In ‘Girl With the Dragon Tattoo’ Sequel

Latest news reveals that Hollywood star Lakeith Stanfield, who has featured in films like Atlanta and Get Out, has joined the cast of The Girl in the Spider’s Web, as a report published by Variety. The film is a sequel to the previous flick, The Girl With The Dragon Tatoo. The thriller film stars Lisbeth Salander as Claire Foy.

Moreover, it features Sylvia Hoeks as Salander’s twin sister, and “The Square” star Claes Bang as the antagonist. The film under the banner of The Sony Pictures will commence in January in Berlin and Stockholm. Further, it is slated to release on Oct. 19, this year.

Directed by Fede Alvarez the screenplay has been written by Steven Knight, along with the team of Alvarez and Jay Basu, based on David Lagercrantz’s bestseller book. Further, the movie will be jointly bankrolled by Scott Rudin, Yellow Bird, Amy Pascal and Elizabeth Cantillon along with executive being David Beaubaire.
