Lifetime Movie ‘Nellie Bly’ To Cast Christina Ricci And Judith Light!

Christina Ricci and Judith Light to star in Nellie Bly! Yes, you heard that right. The two popular Hollywood actresses have signed in to star a lifetime movie based on an inspirational work of Nellie Bly. Let’s find out what roles will they play in the movie.

Nellie Bly is a psychological thriller that is inspired by a groundbreaking 19th century journalist, Elizabeth Cochran Seaman with pen name Bly, who exposed the mistreatment of patients at the Women’s Lunatic Asylum in New York . According to the sources, “Ricci will star as Bly, who feigned mental illness in order to be institutionalized at the asylum and report on the conditions from the inside. Light will play Matron Grady, the head nurse who tortured her patients into submission. Josh Bowman will play Dr. Josiah.”

The film will be a fictionalised account of actual events surrounding Nellie’s stay and the tragedy of losing her real identity after she has undergone treatment. It would take the struggle of mental health care patients who have been tortured a step ahead and will be first of its kind in America. We are yet to see how it contributes in the global reformation of mental health care.
