    Lionsgate Sets June 16 Release Date For Tupac Biopic ‘All Eyez on Me’

    The upcoming Tupac Shakur biopic titled ‘All Eyez on Me’ has got a June 16 release date. The movie stars Demetrius Shipp Jr. and will be released on what would have been the rapper’s 46th birthday. ‘All Eyez on Me’ has been directed by Benny Boom.

    The movie shines light on the rappers rise to fame, his time in prison, as well as his time working with Death Row Records. Tupac met his demise in Las Vegas in September of 1996 where he was shot during a drive by. The title of the biopic has been taken from Tupac’s fourth studio album which was his highest seller.

    The script for ‘All Eyez on Me’ has been written by Ed Gonzalez and Jeremy Haft. James G. Robinson, David C. Robinson and L.T. Hutton are producing the project, the domestic distribution rights to which have been acquired by Lionsgate. The movie will clash with ‘Rock That Body’ and ‘Cars 3’ at the box office upon its release.
