Logan Lerman In Negotiation To Play Dan Rather In ‘Newsflash’

Logan Lerman is in talks to play newscaster Dan Rather in the movie ‘Newsflash’, which revolves on CBS’ coverage of the 1963 assassination of President John F. Kennedy. If Logan gives his nod, he will play Rather as a co-worker of Walter Cronkite in the flick. Dan had joined CBS in 1962 and was appointed as the chief of the southern bureau in New Orleans.

The movie already has Seth Rogen, who will essay the role of Cronkite. David Gordon Green will be at the helm of affairs for the flick. Ben Jacoby has penned the film’s script.

The film will be produced by Greg Silverman via his Stampede Ventures along with Adam Kolbrenner of Madhouse Entertainment . The movie will also feature portrayals of producer Don Hewitt and CBS network president James Aubrey. Lerman is popular for working in ‘The Perks of Being a Wallflower’, ‘Fury’, and Darren Aronofsky’s ‘Noah’. He will be next seen in A24’s ‘The Vanishing of Sidney Hall’, which will hit theatres next month.
