Madagascar 3 topples Tom Cruises Rock of Ages at US box office

Leaving Ridley Scotts sci-fi adventure Prometheus and Hollywood heartthrob Tom Cruises much-publicized film Rock of Ages at the second and third spots, respectively, animals of Madagascar 3: Europes Most Wanted continued to remain on the top position even in the second weekend by earning $35.5 million at the US box office. While Prometheus garnered $20.2 million, the star-studded musical Rock of Ages collected only $15.1 million in domestic theaters, according to a New York Post report. The collection of Sean Anders-directed Adam Sandler starrer Thats My Boy at the box office is also very disappointing as the comedy flick earned only $13 million so far at No. 5 position, just behind Snow White and the Huntsman, which has done a business of $13.8 million.
