Martin Freeman To Star In 'The Operative'

Dr John Watson aka Martin Freeman is set to join the cast of upcoming spy thriller titled 'The Operative'. The Sherlock fame actor will play opposite Diane Kruger in the movie. This international espionage thriller is written and is being directed by Yuval Adler.

As per the report, Freeman will play Thomas, a former handler to Kruger's character Rachel, recruited by Israeli intelligence agency Mossad to go undercover in Tehran. The only clue to Rachel's whereabouts is a cryptic phone call she places to Thomas, who is then summoned from Germany to Israel by Mossad.

Moreover, the production of the film will start in Israel by June before shifting to Bulgaria and Germany. 'The Operative' was adapted from the Israeli book 'The English Teacher'. This book was written by former Israeli intelligence officer Yiftach Reicher Atir, which is based on real-life stories of Mossad operatives. Notably, Martin was seen as Everett K. Ross in the recent Marvel movie- Black Panther.
