Martin Scorsese Working On Biopic Starring DiCaprio In Lead

Martin Scorsese is all occupied for January, thanks to his next project, The Devil in the White City. The movie is based on a real life serial killer, with Leonardo DiCaprio playing the lead Dr. H.H. Holmes. The movie is to be adapted from Erik Larson‘s 2003 book The Devil in the White City: Murder, Magic And Madness At The Fair That Changed America.

 “One of the things that I had to stop for the past six months was my meetings on that script,” he explained to The Toronto Sun. “They want me to start again in January and see if we can find a way (to adapt it) because it’s an extraordinary story,” said legendary director Scorsese.

Dr. Holmes had claimed to have killed 27 people in Chicago and Illinois in the late 1800s, but later estimation revealed of close to 200 murders. Leonardo will join hands with Martin for the sixth time in all, after giving hits in The Aviator, The Departed, Shutter Island, and the most recent The Wolf of Wall Street together.
