    Dallas Buyers Club actor Matthew McConaughey has been selected as the next honouree of this year’s American Cinematheque Award, as announced by the organisation. The award will be presented to the Academy Award winner on October 21.

    The award presenting ceremony will be held at Beverly Hilton marking the Cinematheque’s annual celebrations. American Cinematheque chairman, Rick Nicita, said, “Matthew McConaughey is the epitome of what a Hollywood star should be — an adventurous, joyous and ever-growing talent combined with matinee-idol looks and an unshakeable sense of who he is and what he stands for.” McConaughey was awarded with the Oscar for Best Actor for his performance in Dallas Buyers Club. He will be seen next in Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar.
