The third instalment of the 1995 American buddy cop action-comedy film ‘Bad Boys’ is in the offing. However, filmmaker Michael Bay who directed the first and the second part will not be a part of the third film.  But he said that the makers should soon start shooting the movie as there will be no point in making it after a certain period of time.

‘Bad Boys’ starred Martin Lawrence and Will Smith who played the two narcotic detectives from Miami, Marcus Burnett and Mike Lowrey. The film produced by Don Simpson and Jerry Bruckheimer was a grand success. The movie was followed by its sequel in 2003.

"Pretty soon they're going to be old boys, okay? Pretty soon they're going to be retired cops instead of active-duty cops," Bay said. He added, "It's taken a long time to get that thing going, and I'm not involved in getting it going. They should get it going soon, though. You could definitely get Martin and Will to be funny again those were fun movies to do."

Apart from the third part, the Sony Pictures have also planned the fourth part.
