    Finally the confirmation has arrived from close sources that the speculations about Michael Douglas-Catherine Zeta-Jones’ split are true. The prominent Hollywood couple has parted ways, though not legally, after staying together for 13 years, People magazine reported on Wednesday.

    One of the most high-profile couples in Hollywood, both the Oscar winners were not seen together since last few months at vacations, red carpet events and reports were doing rounds that they were even living separately for a while now. One of their close confidantes told the magazine, "They're taking a break," adding that neither has taken legal step yet for separation. Though, both the actors’ offices refused to comment on the issue.

    Both Douglas and Zeta-Jones were going through serious health problems since last three years. While Douglas was undergoing treatment for his advanced throat cancer since 2010, Zeta-Jones was under the therapy for bipolar disorder. One of their friends told People, "The stress has taken a toll on their marriage.” The duo first met each other in 1998 at the Deauville Film Festival in France, began dating from 1999 and shared the screen space in the 2000 release Traffic. They tied the knot in 2000 and have two children together.
