Michael Giacchino Will Now Compose Music For Rogue One

The 'Rogue One: A Star Wars Story' team has seen some changes in the music department. The Hollywood Reporter has stated that Alexandre Desplat, who was initially attached to the project will be handing over the task to Michael Giacchino. Michael, who won an Academy Award for his work on 'Up', will be composing the music for the upcoming Star Wars story film.

The movie, lead by Inferno actress Felicity Jones, will tell the story of resistance fighters and their attempt to steal the plans of the Death Star. The events shown in the movie take place before ‘Star Wars: A New Hope’. Felicity will play the role of Jyn Erso alongside Mads Mikklesen who plays her father, Galen.

The cast for ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’ also includes Donnie Yen, Jiang Wen, Alan Tudyk, Forest Whitaker and Riz Ahmed. Directed by Gareth Edwards, the movie will hit the screens on December 16. It will be the first of several Star Wars spin-offs planned by Walt Disney Pictures and Lucasfilms.
