    Michael Pitt Joins Scarlett Johansson Starrer ‘Ghost In The Shell’

    Michael Pitt, who is popular for his role of a gangster in Boardwalk Empire, has been roped in to play a villain in ‘Ghost in the shell’. The sci-fi film that also stars Scarlett Johansson is an adaptation of Japanese manga series by DreamWorks. Rupert Sanders is helming the project.

    Scarlett who was long ago roped in as movie’s protagonist will essay the role of Motoko Kusanagi, who is a cyborg cop in task to take down a dangerous hacker. Pitt will portray the character called Laughing Man, “a bitter and vengeful man with a body that is part robot. He has a unique sense of style and has been described as a bad guy filtered through the lens of a street artist”, read a hollywoodreporter.com report.

    Reportedly, the shooting of the film will start by the end of February in New Zealand. Pilou Asbæk is also a part of the movie. Ghost in the shell is scheduled to hit the theatres on March 31, 2017.
