Midnight movie massacre

    Midnight movie massacre

A man armed with guns broke open the emergency exit door, entered a film theater at a midnight screening and opened fire at the audience. This is what happened. It doesnt matter which film was being shown. It doesnt matter whether he was influenced by the film or not. Actually it does and it is evident that he wasnt, he hadnt seen the film since it was a midnight screening and this horrendous incident occurred near the start of the film. It is going to be speculated that this was an act of imitation. An act of a fan gone crazy but it isnt. It is an act of terrorism, an act of cowardice. We must also note that this man was not foreign to the United States, but a 24 year old white American. The country bred this evil. But it isnt even a country that should be blamed. We must go deeper and deduce that a human being did this. This is humanity at its worst. If blame has to be passed, it should be on that man, not his family, not his environment, not the country, not the planet. Just the individual who committed this heinous act. Warner bros. in a respectful and classy move, has decided not to issue any box office reporting till Monday for The Dark Knight Rises. A film where good triumphs over evil. Christopher Nolan has issued a statement which is heartfelt and honest. The cinema is the safest place in the world. Even when it may not be in terms of actual security, it has always been a place that takes us away from our realities, the evils of the world. We like to come out with hope. It is saddening that a day has come when some people never came out at all.
