    Tim Burton’s ‘Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children’ has dominated the weekend box office this week with its $28 million opening. The movie stars Eva Green, Asa Butterfield, Ella Purnell, Allison Janney and Terence Stamp, along with others. Over the weekend, the movie pooled in $66 million worldwide which is a strong start.

    The Mark Wahlberg, Kurt Russell starrer ‘Deepwater Horizon’ saw an opening of $20 million over the weekend. The movie, directed by Peter Berg, tells the true story of the events that took place during the oil rig explosion that occurred in April 2010. The worldwide earnings for the flick have reached $32 million. ‘The Magnificent Seven’, dropped to third place with its $15 million weekend earnings. The Denzel Washington, Chris Pratt starrer has crossed the $100 million mark.

    The animated flick ‘Storks’ has pooled in $13 million, running on its second weekend. The movie has been directed by Nick Stoller and Doug Sweetland. Tom Hanks’ ‘Sully’ still maintains a spot on the top five list with its $8.2 million. The movie has now pooled in $151 million worldwide.
