Morena Baccarin joins Deadpool

Morena Baccarin has bagged a role opposite Ryan Reynolds as the female lead in the ‘Deadpool’ movie. Tim Miller will direct the feature, with Lauren Shuler Donner as producer. Reynolds first portrayed the mutant in X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009).

The 35-year-old actress is mostly famous for her roles in TV series Firefly and Homeland.  She currently portrays Jessica Brody on Homeland and Erika Flynn on The Mentalist, and is slated to appear in a recurring capacity as Dr. Leslie Thompkins on Gotham. She joins a cast that includes T.J. Miller and Gina Carano, who were also recently brought onto the project. Baccarin will play a currently unnamed character that is falling in love with Deadpool, which can’t be easy considering his penchant for violence, cursing. Deadpool will be in theaters February 12th, 2016.
