    Murder on the Orient Express Ropes In Willem Dafoe

    Director Kenneth Branagh is working on developing the cinematic adaptation of Agatha Christie’s acclaimed mystery ‘Murder on the Orient Express’. Branagh will also be starring in the film alongside Johnny Depp, Michelle Pfeiffer and Daisy Ridley. Now, The Hollywood Reporter has brought word that Willem Dafoe has also been roped in for the film.

    According to the website, Dafoe will play the role of train passenger Mr. Hardman who is suspected to have ties with the murder victim. The novel was published back in 1934 and is touted as one of the mosst ingenious stories ever written. In the murder mystery, Depp will play the role of Ratchett, Branagh will portray detective Hercule Poirot, Ridley will play Mary Debenham and Pfeiffer will be seen as Mrs. Hubbard.

    The cast also includes Judi Dench as Princess Dragomiroff along with Lucy Boynton, Tom Bateman, Derek Jacobi and Michael Pena, as well as others. Branagh, Mark Gordon, Judy Hofflund, Simon Kinberg, Michael Schaefer, Ridley Scott and Aditya Sood will serve as producers for the project. ‘Murder on the Orient Express’ is expected to be released on November 22.

    Dafoe will next be seen in ‘The Great Wall’ starring Matt Damon. Directed by Yimou Zhang, the movie will hit theatres on February 17.
