Variety has reported that Dunkirk actor Tom Hardy has been roped in for a Bosnian War movie titled, ‘My War Gone By, I Miss It So’. It will be the cinematic adaptation of Anthony Lloyd’s 1999 book of the same name. The book is a personal account of the writer who was an English journalist and war correspondent.

The actor spoke about the project and called it a “brutal yet sensitive story”. “I was struck by Anthony’s work and words, experiences, and for me his is an important voice and an important book”, Tom shared. Lloyd was part of the British army and spent time in Bosnia. His parents got divorced and then he became distant from his father. He also became addicted to heroin.

‘My War Gone By, I Miss It So’ is being directed by Gavin O’Connor of ‘The Accountant’ fame. He will also be producing the project along with Scott LaStaiti. The director and producer both praised Lloyd’s book, calling it “haunting and heartfelt”. The movie does not have a release date as of yet.
