    Natalie Portman to make her directorial debut


    The Black Swan star Natalie Portman will make her directorial debut with her upcoming flick ‘A Tale of Love and Darkness’. The film is based on autobiographical novel written by an Israeli author Amos Oz. A new trailer of the flick was released which has no dialogue and features a story of a family dealing with misery during a war.


    An official said, "It is a family saga and a magical self-portrait of a writer who witnessed the birth of a nation and lived through its turbulent history. A Tale of Love and Darkness is the story of a boy who grows up in war-torn Jerusalem, in a small apartment crowded with books in 12 languages and relatives galore. It is the story of an adolescent whose life has been changed forever after his mother's suicide”.


    Natalie will be seen playing the role of a mother who struggles with bipolar disorder while raising her son during the riots in Jerusalem. The flick was premiered at 2015 Cannes Film Festival on May 16 and garnered mixed reviews from the critics. The release date of the flick in US is still not scheduled.
