    Natalie Portman Reveals She Has Experienced ‘Sexual Terrorism’ As A Teenager

    Hollywood actress Natalie Portman recently revealed to Contactmusic.com that she was sexually terrorised when she was 13-year-old. The actress said that she after the shooting of her first feature film she went through such heinous situation. The Academy-award winning actress shared her terrifying experiences as a child star.



    The 36-year-old actress revealed, “I turned 12 on the set of my first film Leon: The Professional, on which I play a young girl who befriends a hitman and hopes to avenge the murder of her family. The character was spontaneously developing and discovering her womanhood, her voice and her desire. At that moment of my life, I too was discovering”. She also revealed that she used to reject roles which could sexualise her.



    At the Women's March in Los Angeles on January 20th, the actress spoke about how she was sexually objectified by a fan at the age of 13 by a rape-fantasy letter. The Black Swan star said, “I felt the need to cover my body and to inhibit my expression and my work in order to send my own message to the world: that I’m someone worthy of safety and respect. The response to my expression, from small comments about my body to more threatening deliberate statements, served to control my behavior through an environment of sexual terrorism”. Other actors like Scarlett Johansson and Mila Kunis also shared their experiences at the event.
