New Addition to Star Trek Beyond – Joe Taslim

Known for his roles in movies like ‘Fast and Furious 6’ and ‘The Raid: Redemption’, Joe Taslim has bagged a role in the forthcoming Star Trek movie. The specific details of his role are currently unknown but according to hollywoodreporter.com, his character will be along the lines of Idris Elba’s villainous character.

The Indonesia-born actor and martial artist played Jah in the Fast and Furious film and Jaka in The Raid: Redemption. Star Trek Beyond will be the third instalment in the rebooted Star Trek series. The movie is currently in the production stage in Vancouver.

With a release date of July 8 next year, Star Trek Beyond will be directed by Justin Lin and written by Doug Jung and Simon Pegg. The cast will include Zoe Saldana, Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Idris Elba, Simon Pegg and Sofia Boutella. It will be produced by J.J. Abrams, Bran Burk and Roberto Orci.
