The trailer shows Zach, played by Dylan Minnette, moving into a new neighbourhood, only to discover that R.L. Stine lives next door with his daughter Hannah (Odeya Rush). One fine night, on hearing voices from R.L.’s house, Zach decides to sneak in to make sure Hannah is okay. He then discovers the collection of Goosebumps books that are mysteriously locked. On opening the books, the monster on which the particular book was based, comes to life and the trio are then forced to figure out how to get them back in.

Last year, Jack Black told EW, “This is obviously a fictionalized version of his life and nothing that happens in this movie actually happened to him, other than him writing all the books. I also got to meet R.L. and he’s a really great guy. Really smart and funny and sweet. But I made [the character] more of a sort of curmudgeonly dark, brooding beast master”. The movie is directed by Rob Letterman and the story is written by Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski. It will hit the theatres on October 16, this year.
