The 2004 American computer-animated superhero film ‘The Incredibles’ garnered lots of praises and was offered a visually thrilling experience to audiences. Nearly a decade later, in March 2014, Walt Disney Company CEO Bob Iger first announced that the second iteration of the movie was in development. Recently, Pixar Animation Studios, an American computer animation film studio which produced the movie, declared that they are not planning any more sequels after the second part.

Entertainment Weekly reports that the production company will focus on making original movies after 'Cars 3', which is scheduled for release in the summer of 2017, 'Toy Story 4', which is slated to be out in 2018 and ‘The Incredibles 2’, which is expected to hit screens in 2019.

Talking about the problems which comes along starting a sequel, the company’s president Jim Morris stated, "Most studios jump on doing a sequel as soon as they have a successful film, but our business model is a filmmaker model, and we don't make a sequel unless the director of the original film has an idea that they like and are willing to go forward on”.

"A sequel in some regards is even harder (than the original) because you've got this defined world which, on the one hand, is a leg-up, and on the other hand has expectations that you can't disappoint on”, said Morris, adding, “Everything after Toy Story and The Incredibles is an original right now”.
