American actress Noel Neill, who starred as the bold and fearless Daily Planet newspaper reporter in the 1950s TV series ‘Adventures of Superman’, breathed her last at the age of 95. The actress appeared as Superman's love interest, Lois Lane, first in 1948 and returned many times to appear in 'Superman' films. She also essayed the role of Lois Lane's mother in the 1978 'Superman'. She died on July 3 at her home in Tucson, Arizona after prolonged illness.

Noel’s manager and biographer Larry Ward took to Facebook to share a statement saying that the actress maintained her bright, perky and engaging personality up until her death. The actress originally thought of becoming a journalist before playing one on screen. She was born in Minneapolis and her father was a newspaper editor.

She also modelled and sang while in her teens. Noel was hired by Bing Crosby to sing at the racetrack in Del Mar, California. Before moving into acting and singing, the actress, who was awarded with a Golden Boot for her work in Western films, wrote for Women's Wear Daily.
