Octavia Spencer lands Insurgent

Oscar award achiever Octavia Spencer is finalized for the second instalment in Divergent series. The actress will depict the character of Johanna, who is the leader of the Amity faction. Shailene Woodley, Theo James and Kate Winslet are already on board for this sequel and they will be reprising their roles from the prequel. Miles Teller, Jai Courtney, Mekhi Phifer and Ben Lamb are on board for pivotal characters. The movie will be based on the 2nd novel of Divergent series written by Veronica Roth.

The film focuses on Tris Prior, who is in search of allies and answers and tries to save her loved ones. Robert Schwentke will direct the venture, while Brian Duffield and Akiva Goldsman will draft script for the same. Douglas Wick and Lucy Fisher will lend financial help. Two more sequels are in pipelinetitled Allegiant: Part 1 andAllegiant: Part 2 scheduled to release on March 18, 2016 and March 24, 2017, respectively.
