    Oscar-winning Editor Of High Noon, Elmo Williams Passes Away At 102

    Elmo Williams, popular for winning an Oscar for co-editing the 1952 film Western High Noon has passed away. The 102 year old filmmaker took his last breath on November 25. It is said that Williams had been the oldest living Oscar winners. Harry W. Gerstad, who co-edited High Noon died in 2002.

    Williams started his career in the industry working under Editor Merrill White. He met the film editor as a carhop, reportedly. He had assisted him in projects like Nurse Edith Cavell, Irene, Design for Death Dick Tracy Meets Gruesome, Bodyguard, and Hell Canyon Outlaws.

    Williams has also helmed several films, which include The Tall Texan, Women Without Men, Hell Ship Mutiny. As a producer, he has handled the project Tora! Tora! Tora!. The filmmaker has also been a part of several television programs.
