In 2015 Director James Wan announced that he had signed on to produce the long-delayed Mortal Kombat reboot and that ad filmmaker Simon Mcquoid was hired to direct making the movie his directorial debut, however since then there has been barely any news about the movie which led to plenty of fan theories and leaks, some going as far as to say that the reboot was not happening, luckily writer Greg Russo announced in February this year that the script for the movie was complete.

Now in a recent announcement by James Wan stated the movie would begin shooting later this year in his homeland of Australia. Developed by Midway Games in1992 Mortal Kombat is one of the most successful video game franchises of all time this success led to two movie adaptions in the 1990s and now nearly two decades later we are finally getting a new movie so we decided to pick who should the iconic characters of the franchise on the big screen.
