Producer Joel Silver and Paramount Pictures have hired writers Nick Creature and Michael Sweeny for their latest project Sanctuary. The movie will be Joel Silver’s latest venture in the genre of supernatural action. The movie was originally written by Alan Trezza.

The movie focuses on a woman who is possessed by a powerful demon. After learning about her ill fate, she seeks shelter in The Sanctuary. The Sanctuary is a organization run by the Vatican, which teaches the possessed to gain control over the demon inside them and use it as a weapon against evil.

The movie, which has been described as somewhere between Wanted and Blade, is Joel Silver’s first project after departing from Warner Bros. Elizabeth Raposo and Ethan Erwin will keep a watch on the development of the project on the behalf of Paramount and Silver Pictures Entertainment respectively. Creature and Sweeney’s The Mayor of Shark City was voted to the 2013 Black List, which catalogs Hollywood’s best unproduced screenplays each year.
