Patton Oswalt Opens Up About Wife’s Cause Of Death

Patton Oswalt Opens Up About Wife’s Cause Of Death

Last year in April, comedian-actor Patton Oswalt suffered a tragic loss when his wife, Michelle McNamara, passed away in her sleep. It was extremely mysterious why and how this happened and Patton, along with the doctors, has been trying to establish a cause of death ever since. Now, Patton has revealed the cause to be a heart condition combined with prescription medications.

According to The Associated Press, the comedian said, “We learned today the combination of drugs in Michelle’s system, along with a condition we were unaware of, proved lethal”. The prescription drugs Adderall, Xanax and the pain medication Fentanyl, were part of the reason for her untimely death. Back in October, he spoke with the New York Times and shared that it was the second worst day of his life, the first being the day after when, he had to tell their daughter.

In November, after several months of grieving, Patton returned for the New York Comedy Festival for stand-up. “A rebuke to grief, an acceptance of the messiness of life. I’ll never be at 100 percent again, but that won’t stop me from living this”, he said back then.

We hope Patton has come to terms with the passing of his wife and wish him and his daughter a happy and fruitful life ahead.
