    It’s time for the acclaimed directors Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg to make it big in Hollywood this time. The Norwegian filmmakers, who were nominated at Oscars forBest Foreign Language Film in 2012 for their Kon-Tiki, have been hired to helm the fifth installment of Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.

    Johnny Depp-starrer fifth part is slated to release on July 10, 2015. Directors like Fredrik Bond of The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman fame and Rupert Sanders of Snow White and the Huntsman’s fame have lost the race to the Oscar nominees. As reported by Deadline, "This is a game-changing job for a director or directing team, and it’s a case of these guys getting hot at exactly the right time.” On the other hand, Disney and producer Jerry Bruckheimer have been sued over Pirates of the Caribbean franchise’s copyright infringement issues.

    A Florida resident named Royce Mathew has filed a lawsuit against the makers of Pirates of the Caribbean claiming that the characters, supernatural elements, storylines, plots, themes, sequence structures and screenplay elements of the franchise are progeny of his mind. He also revealed that a settlement between him and Disney took place when a lawsuit was filed earlier. But according to the plaintiff, the credits of all the creations have always been given to writers Ted Elliott and Terry Rossio. The court documents have been obtained by The Wrap and Disney has not yet responded for any further comments.
