Meghan Markle Chooses Prince Charles To Walk Down The Aisle At Royal Wedding After Her Dad Steps Out

Prince Charles, 69 will walk down the aisle with Meghan Markle, as per his statement released on May 18. Prince Charles is stepping up at the last minute to help Meghan and Harry out on their Royal Wedding, after her dad bows out. Prince Charles is not only Prince Harry and Prince William’s dad, he’s the son of Queen Elizabeth II, 92, and the heir apparent to the throne!

“Ms Markle has asked His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales to accompany her down the aisle of the Quire of St. George’s Chapel on her Wedding Day. The Prince of Wales is pleased to be able to welcome Ms Markle to The Royal Family in this way,” the official statement reads. This is such a generous action taken by Prince Charles.

Meghan’s father, Thomas Markle, will not be able to attend the Royal Wedding as he suffered a heart attack. It is also said that Thomas is also bowing out of the biggest event of the year because he doesn’t want to embarrass his daughter. Prince Charles has also stepped up at Alexandra Knatchbull’s wedding, a goddaughter of the late Princess Diana, to walk down the aisle when she wed Thomas Hooper in 2016.
