Race Official Poster Released

Legendary Olympic athlete Jesse Owens will be getting a biopic titled Race, which has got its first official poster, released by Focus Features. Race will tell the story of the extreme determination, courage, tolerance and friendship experienced by Jesse Owens. The character of Owens will be played by Stephan James.

Jesse Owens participated in the 1936 Olympics to become the greatest and most famous athlete in track and field history. Long Jump and Sprints were his forte. Jesse set three world records in 1935 and in 1936, he won gold medals in four events.

Stephan James will be portraying the super athlete Jesse. The cast for Race will include Jason Sudeikis, Jeremy Irons, Shanice Banton and William Hurt. Carice van Houten will play the role of the German filmmaker who documented the historical event. Stephen Hopkins will be directing the film which will hit theatres on February 19 next year.
