Ralph Fiennes Says He Is Possessive Over Lord Voldemort

Remembered for playing the evil Lord Voldemort in the Harry Potter series, Ralph Fiennes, who has essayed several major movie characters, says that he doesn’t want anyone else to portray the role he is most recognized for. The actor says that he grew tired of playing dark roles in ‘Schindler's List’, ‘Red Dragon’ and ‘Harry Potter’ movie series. But, he feels possessive over his character from author J.K. Rowling's wizarding universe.

“With darker characters, you have to go to weird places in your head and - well you can never say never - but after an SS commandant, a serial killer in ‘Red Dragon’ and Voldemort, I decided I didn't want to be that definition of evil any more”, Fiennes told Evening Standard newspaper, adding, “If you play those parts, I feel you have to put your head in the place of that person. And it f***s with your head. But if Voldemort came round again, I would feel possessive... protective. I would like to not let that go”.

On a related note, Ralph was last seen in Joel and Ethan Coen’s Hail, Caesar. He also lent his voice for Travis Knight’s Kubo and the Two Strings. He has also given his voice for an upcoming American-Danish 3D computer-animated action-comedy superhero film ‘The Lego Batman Movie’, which is scheduled for release on February 10, 2017.
